SOCCER: Old Bens SC defeated Don Bosco SC, Negombo on a
penalty shoot out 4-1 after the game ended in a 1-all draw in a
preliminary game of the Ranpandu Soccer Tournament played at the
Sugathadasa Stadium yesterday. In the 44th minute of the first half Old
Bens scored through G. M. Prasanna when drove a 30-yard kick to beat the
opposing goal keeper A. S. Lakshan all ends up. Don Bosco equalised in
the midway second half with A. A. Wasantha hitting the net off a free
kick. At the final whistle scores stood 1-all and the referee M. A.
Ranjith implemented the penalty shoot out and the Old Bens came out
winners kicking all 4 correctly to Don Bosco 1 off three kicks.
