First-ever 'Report Card' on corporate accountability
The first-ever 'Report Card' on corporate accountability, based on
the implementation of a strategic approach to corporate accountability,
is featured in LMD's January edition.
Compiled by STING Consultants, in association with LMD, the Corporate
Accountability Rating evaluates submissions made by the companies
concerned.
Classifying companies into broad bands, based on their level of
adherence to implementing a strategic approach to corporate accounta
bility, the exchange enables companies to showcase their activities,
said STING, in LMD.
Benchmarked into four broad classifications - Platinum,
Gold, Silver and Bronze - the classification is based on the points
that each company scored (Platinum 90-100; Gold 80-89, Silver 70-79; and
Bronze 55-69).
Brandix Lanka, Cargills Ceylon, Ceylon Tobacco Company and Coca-Cola
Beverages Sri Lanka are in the 'Platinum' band while Aitken Spence,
Eagle Insurance, Hettigoda Group, John Keells Holdings, Mega Engineering
and People's Leasing Company are classified in the 'Gold' band.
Colombo Dockyard, DIMO, e-Wis, HNB and Sampath Bank are ranked in the
'Silver' band, while Blue Diamonds, Hayleys Advantis, GSK, Softlogic
Holdings and Unilever Sri Lanka are in the 'Bronze' band.
"The winners had strong characteristics. One was that they were all
focused on making an impact at community level. They implemented
company-wide initiatives, not endeavours that are confined to one
division or another - corporate accountability is becoming part and
parcel of their corporate culture," the magazine said.

which is also responsible for living, most respected and The LMD 50, in
addition to presenting the business program Benchmark. |
