Asoka de Silva Cricket Academy win 4 out of 6

The Asoka de Silva Cricket: Academy Under-15 XI fared creditably,
winning four out of six matches competing in a 50-over tournament
conducted by the Khan Cricket Academy, Chennai featuring local teams.
On the team's return, coach Ramyajith Wijesinghe told the 'Sunday
Observer' that his boys had gained much exposure from the tour.
"They mixed up and played against various teams in Chennai in the
tournament. At junior level it went a long way, helping the boys to gain
much foreign exposure. I'm sure these boys, drawn from various schools
in the country, benefitted from the experience which should help them go
into the next level," Coach Wijesinghe said.
'Outstanding performances for Asoka de Silva Cricket Academy (ASCA)
came from Damith Punchibandara of Lumbini Vidyalaya who scored a fine
135, Gavesha Jayasuriya from Pinnawela M.V. (120), Tiswan Pasela of
Zahira (68), Lahiru Buddhika of Dharmapala (80).
In the bowling department, paceman Chulitha Brahakmanage of D.S.
Senanayake Vidyalaya who had a tally of 8 wickets, off spinners Pradeep
Wasantha from Lumbini Vidyalaya, Basiq Marikar and Mohamed Wasim of
Zahira College respectively who had 8 wickets apeice also impressed.
