'My Dream Account'

One of the ongoing dilemmas facing parents are to plan for their child's future. 'My Dream Account', by Standard Chartered Bank will fulfil this purpose, while offering the account holder unique benefits and interest rates of up to 14 per cent. The 'My Dream Account' can be opened in Sri Lankan Rupees, as well as any of the major foreign currencies. An attractive welcome gift is given to the account holder upon opening the account. With a minimum interest rate of 12 per cent, rising to 14 per cent for deposits over Rs. 200,000 the balance in this account will grow. As this balance grows, the account holder will receive gift vouchers from Nastars, Lumala and VTech Toys ranging from Rs. 2,500 upwards.

Parents need not worry about checking the balance either: the i-banking facility is offered free, allowing the account holder to check their balance. As with most children's savings accounts, the money cannot be withdrawn until the account holder is 18 years, assuring a valuable nest egg for their future, when they need it.

The account holder will also be granted exclusive membership at the Standard Chartered Kids Club, along with their own membership card.

This will allow them to avail themselves of a variety of discounts at selected merchant outlets.
