Maggi 'Kiribath Mangalya 2009'
Maggi Real Coconut Milk ushered in the New Year amidst great ceremony
along with the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation at 'Kiribath Mangalya
2009'.
The program, telecast live on 'Nuga Sevana' at 8 am on New Year's Day
witnessed the making of Kiribath in four traditional styles: plain
kiribath, pongal, imbul kiribath and mung (green gram) kiribath.
Kiribath, also referred to as 'Milk Rice', is a definite ceremonial
specific at any local occasion.
The Kiribath Mangalya is yet another event to build unity and harmony
in Sri Lanka, transcending all boundaries of race, religion, caste and
creed.
The event included leading culinary experts Mallika Joseph, Shantha
Mayadunne, Kumudini Gunasekara and Uma Coomaraswamy.
