Moratuwa Cricket School celebrates 20 years

CRICKET: A two-day cricket carnival organised by the Moratuwa Cricket School (MCS) to celebrate their 20th anniversary is on at the De Soysa Stadium, Moratuwa. It started yesterday and will be continued today from 9.00 a.m. for the students of the MCS. The chief guests will be Deputy Controller Immigration and Emigration Department Sunil Hettiarachchi and Mrs. Kumudini Hettiarachchi.

Students will have to play the matches among themselves in the respective age groups and there will also be a special match for the parents. Awards for the best performers will be presented at the end of the second day. According to the Director and Head Coach of Moratuwa Cricket School - Bandula de Silva, the founders Lantra Fernando and Bandula inaugurated Moratuwa Cricket School 20 years ago on December 8th, 1988 with the aim of exposing their knowledge and experience about cricket for the betterment of the game at the highest level.
