Program to find markets for exports
Prof. G. L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development and International
Trade recently visited the new Rocell Bathware factory at Templeburg
Industrial Park, Homagama that manufactures bathware units for Royal
Ceramics(Lanka) Ltd. His visit was part of a program to promote a new
vision among exporters that includes searching for new export markets
for Sri Lankan products and value addition for such items that would in
turn offer more employment opportunities.
Royal Ceramics already exports their floor tiles and wall tiles to
Australia, India and Singapore and is looking forward to do so with the
products of the new factory, in which it has invested Rs. 1,750 million.
Prof. Peiris also engaged in a discussion with the management of the
Company where Government's aspirations pertaining to the Export Sector
were touched on.
He also listened to various problems encountered by the organisation
and possible solutions were discussed.

Anil Koswatte and Ajith Panditharatne, Chairman and the Executive
Director of the Export Development Board and Nimal Perera, Managing
