Walkers launch domestic tourism project
Walkers Tours Ltd., launched its `Unforgettable' domestic tourism
initiative to tap the vast potential in Sri Lanka for a vibrant domestic
tourism industry.
CEO, Walkers Tours Ltd., Michael Elias said Sri Lanka which is
blessed with natural beauty and cultural diversity has immense potential
to be the sought after tourist destinations.
"The domestic tourism initiative of Walkers Tours will support the
Narabamu Sri Lanka initiative of the Ministry of Tourism to help Sri
Lankans to explore the diverse culture and the scenic beauty of the
country", he said.
Elias said this initiative is aimed at providing opportunities for
senior citizens, children, nature lovers and pilgrims to travel to their
choice of destination.
"This program is not a flash in the pan but a concept that will be
developed and promoted in a sustainable manner.
The standards and services will not be compromised", he said.
A reasonable package will be on offer for week and week-end tours to
the cultural triangle, Yala National Park and Kataragama, whale and bird
watching, white-water rafting, trekking, camping and site seeing are
some of the features of the tours.
Managing Director, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Delip
Mudadeniya said the initiative of Walkers Tours will pave the way for a
dynamic tourism industry in the country with vast opportunities for Sri
Lankans to visit some of the prime locations.
