An 'icing' anniversary !

 All what R.L. Clement, Sri Lanka's No.1 cake wizard had wanted was to
give his wife a pleasant surprise for being his intimate partner for the
past 25 years! With his mastery of cake decorating, it was no difficult
task for him. Setting a local record (most probably a world record as
well), Clement and Sriyani celebrated their 25th "Icing" wedding
anniversary recently at the St. Lucia's Cathedral followed by a
reception at the Hotel Galadari.
It was indeed a pleasant and novel experience for all the invitees
from the moment they received invitation cards which were all done in
icing. Believe it or not - it was an "icing world"! From the entrance to
St.Lucia's Cathedral up to the altar, entrance to the Hotel and the
entire hall decorations were done in icing. Not only the head table and
guest tables that were decorated with "icing" bells, flowers and leaves
, but even the headdress that adorned Sriyani and the flower pinned on
Clement's coat were made of icing.Over two hundred thousand icing
flowers and leaves had been used for decorations. Another striking
feature was the cake structure which was 13 feet in height decorated
with icing flowers and silver bells.
To the sheer delight of the guests, each of them were presented with
a delicious piece of cake placed in a bell-shaped container made of
icing! All in all , it was a wonderful 25th "Icing" wedding anniversary.
