Eight civilians killed

Eight civilians have been killed by a group of armed men believed to be LTTE cadres in Karametiya village in the Bibile electorate yesterday. The attack had taken place in this jungle village around 6 p.m. yesterday. Five civilians were also critically injured and were rushed to the hospital.

Police and Security Forces were despatched to the scene immediately and a search operation has been launched.

The security has been tightened, after the attack, sources said.
