The record breakers in action

Russian athletics star Yelena Isinbayeva (on left), and French tennis prodigy Ameli Mauresmo (on right), stole the show in the sporting world last week.

Isinbayeva, set a new indoor pole vault record of five metres at the annual Bubka memorial tournament held in Russia last Sunday (Feb 15), while Mauresmo, capped a terrific resurgence in form also last week, with victory over Russian third seed Elena Dementieva in the final of the WTA Paris Open in France also on the same day.
