Suicide attempt fails

An attempt by a pro - LTTE suspect to commit suicide failed as a protest ended unsuccessfully for the second time in London. He was admitted to a hospital with “superficial” burns on Friday. The London Metropolitan Police said he was on fire for a short time outside the British Parliament in Parliament Square in Central London.

It is believed he was attempting a self-immolation as a protest against the Sri Lankan security forces who are on the verge of defeating the (LTTE) terrorists. A police spokesman said, on February 27 a man was seen alight in Parliament Square SW1. Police officers came to his aid and the fire was extinguished. The 43 year-old was taken to a south London hospital. It is thought he may have suffered superficial burns and his condition is certainly not critical. ”

Another pro-LTTE man attempted to commit suicide recently when over 5,000 Sri Lankans were demonstriang in Downing Street against the terrorist group.
