St.Lawrence exhibition on March 13, 14

An exhibition of children's art, sculpture and photography of St.Lawrence's Convent, Wellawatte, "Warna Sankalana Lama Sithkam Dakma" will be held on March 13, 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the School hall.

The exhibition, which is held for the third time includes a display of more than 500 paintings, sculpture and photography to show the talents of the students of St.Lawrence's Convent.The expo will be opened on March 13 at 9.00 a.m. by an eminent artist, Jayasiri Semage. Rev. Fr. Ranjith Madurawela, the General Manager of Catholic Schools and Zonal Education Director Karunamuni will be the guests of honour.On the second day, Rt. Rev. Bishop Marius Peiris, reputed artist, Charlie Dayananda, Divisional Director of Education Sarukkhan will be the guests of honour.

The judges for the competition will be the senior teacher-counsellor for art, Vincent Perera and the Managing Director of HomRun Pas, Dayawansha Kumasaru.

Prizes will be sponsored by the HomRun Pas Company. The teacher-in-charge of the Senior Art section Mrs. Mangala Ratnayake, Miss Sonali Pompeus and Miss Kanchana Gunaratne of the Primary Art section played a major role in organising the exhibition, under the silent force behind the entire exposition in Sister Principal Rev. Sr. Chandrika Perera.
