A special event for USJP graduates

`Sisi Arundathi’, a name which is familiar to all of the people who have some relationship with the Applied Science Faculty of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is the grandest cultural show of the scientists which is to be held annually, organised by the Applied Science Faculty of University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

This show makes a stage to show off the talents of the students of the Applied Science Faculty.

As most of the people know, 2009 is not an ordinary year for the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. They celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. In order to mark this, the public was given a great opportunity of witnessing a successful exhibition in February.

The celebrations are not over yet. `Sisi Arundathi’ Organising Committee has decided to do something special at the cultural show to join hands with the celebrations.

They have decided to honour 50 graduates from the Applied Science Faculty for the service they have rendered to make this country a better place to live.

“We want to give a recognition and appreciate the service of the past students of the Faculty of Applied Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, those who had contributed and developed social, economic, educational, and cultural fields; those who had transformed and changed the direction of our country and society; those who had sacrificed and ventured into new paths and paved the path for us to tread and to take Sri Lanka into the future”, says Danushka Edirisinghe, a member of the Organising Committee.

Sisi Arundathi -2009 is scheduled to be held on April 23. So, here we have a request for all the graduates from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
