The maiden directorial venture of Sunil Aruna Weerasiri, "Tikirisuwanda"
is now being shot at Narammala. "Tikirisuwanda" which is directed by K.
D. Dayananda, is woven around a child who is harassed and comes out of
his agony to become a model citizen. "Tikirisuwanda" introduces Child
actors Malisha Samaratunga and Mihiranga Weerasinghe as well as child
singer Tharshana Madawa as playback singer to Sri Lankan cinema.
Music for the film is by veteran musician Rohana Weerasinghe while
popular singers Nanda Malani, Senanayake Weraliyadda and Rodney
Warnakulasuriya render their voices to songs composed by Ven. Rambukana
Siddhartha Thera and Bandula Nanayakkarawasam. Indian Cameramen
Venkatisvar Rao and Shashidar Shalishetti of Cinemascope in Chennai are
also engaged in shooting. The cast includes Joe Abeywickrama, Anula
Karunatilake, Jayalal Rohana, Anura Bandara Rajaguru and Nirda Uyanhewa.
Ranga
He assisted in the make-up and hairstyles for films - Pirin Double,
Daru Upatha, Mamath Geheniyak, Asani Warsa and the banned `Gini Siluwa'.
 He
was the main make-up and hairstyles artiste for the TV programmes Tharu
Mansala and Rasata Rasak.
He humbly obliged to be the make-up and hairstyles artiste for
Sriyani Amarasena's Keerakotuwe Gedera and Rangana Vijithaya, Arthur U.
Amarasena's Gini Veluma, Anusha's Sihinen Evidin and Gini Piyadasa
Waduge's Gini Kurulu Kuduwa.
Having had his education at the Weluwana Maha Vidyalaya Dilruk
Wijesekera mastered kandyan dancing under the dancing teacher Mrs.
Rajini Selvanayagam.
He is also a very good volleyball player and won an award for the
best dasher in the Borella electorate.
Later he practised his talents in dancing under Channa Wijewardene
and also studied Bharatha Natyam under Mrs. Varuki Shanmugampillai. He
has contributed to newspaper advertisements, visuals and for the 2002
Sarasaviya Film Festival souvenir.
He has been requested to do the make-up and hairstyles for several
tele dramas to be telecast in the future.
He is conducting a modelling school as well as a dancing school to
give a helping hand to novice enthusiasts. |
