Johannesburg, (Prensa Latina)
Legendary Argentine-Cuban guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara will be paid
homage at the Freedom Park historical complex, in South Africa, for his
contribution to pro-independence causes worldwide. The Heroic
Guerrilla’s ideas and deeds were taken into account by leaders of the
historical statuesque complex to place his figure besides 24 local
heroes and other from around the world.
Chair of the Historical Complex, Doctor Wally Serote, said that the
figure of Che will be placed in the Leaders’ Gallery reserved to those
24 figures, including Amilcar Cabral, Julius Nyerere, Oliver Tambo,
Steve Biko and Toussaint Louverture, which will be inaugurated this
year. The legendary guerrilla is among those who have contributed to
independence in Africa and to put an end to apartheid, said designers of
the Park.
The Freedom Park was officially inaugurated in December 2006, with a
site called the Wall of Memory, with the names of Cubans fallen in
internationalist heroic deeds in Africa. |
