Never before has there ever been
a party where, even at 9 a.m. in the morning, it was still happening!
Tipped as one of the biggest and best parties that the Year 2009 has
ever seen, 'The Beach' organised by Frequency 69 was a sure hit with the
crowd for people turned out in thousands to be a part of it.
It
all started when the organisers asked the guests to dress in `white' if
possible. Wearing white was the theme of the rocking party. Wondering
why `white' was the right colour, some of us opted to make it in zebra
black and white or mix 'n match white stripes and headed over to the La
Langousterie, Mount Lavinia at 9:30 p.m. sharp.
All parties in and around Colombo are `happening' only at midnight,
`The Beach' obviously had a catch in it starting at 9:30. The deal was
that free drinks were offered to all patrons till 10:30 and you could
only get another glass after you finish it in a 'bottoms-up' game.
Nevertheless, even after 10:30 the guests still kept moving into the
zone.
Says one raver of the party, "Even though we didn't party until about
midnight, the fact that it was easy to relax at the beach was
heaven-sent".
True
to that effect, many just lounged by the beach, chilled with some
friends, frolicked with others, while some others ate to store up energy
knowing fully well that they'll be bumping and grinding on the dance
floor.
The rocking DJs like Shiyam, Lil Guru, Roger, Mahes from Vibrations
Hikkaduwa, Dishan from the Diving Centre Unawatuna together with master
host DJ Rizni pumped up the action that made the `The Beach' a night to
remember. Talented drummers from Hikkaduwa, the Hurricanes sure made the
evening into a natural dancing whirlwind. Guest DJs included Nitro, Upul
and Ranga.
Rizni Reza and his team along with Randika, Farzil, Malcolm, Amzi,
Mahinth and awesome photographer Chamil really did a great job.
We hope there will be more to tickle everyone's fancy in the
forthcoming months.
