Answers:
1. They were called pharaohs.
2. The River Nile has been the life-blood of Egypt. In ancient days
the river watered vast plains and increased their fertility and the
whole country grew rich and prosperous. The Egyptians cultivated the
land for thousand of years.
3. Hieroglyphics were the Egyptian system of picture writing in
ancient days. Hieroglyph means a picture. Each hieroglyph stood for a
picture and there were series of pictures which conveyed a particular
message.
4. Cuneiform means wedge shaped. It was the Sumerian system of
writing. They used symbols and made them on clay tablets with wedge
shaped pens. These wedgeshaped strokes represented words.
5.Ur and Uruk were two famous Sumerian cities.

6. Hammurabi has been the most famous. He is well known for his
strict legal code and its practical application.
7. The Aryans came to India between 2000 BC and 1500 BC.
8. The most important difference is that the Indus Valley
civilization was urban and the Aryan civilization was rural and pastoral
(country/life)
