Russia, Hong Kong cancel visa regime

Russia and Hong Kong cancelled visa requirements for nationals of both countries, the Russian foreign ministry said late Friday.

"The accord will come into force as soon as necessary internal procedures are complete, and after that nationals of Russia and Hong Kong on a mutual basis will be able to make visa-free visits of up to 14 days," the ministry said in a statement.

Over 37,000 Russians visited Hong Kong last year alone, the ministry added.
