This is a key initiative under NDB Bank's Corporate Social
Responsibility plan for this year, and it comes in support of His
Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa's declaration of 2009 as the
National Year of English and IT.
Youth from schools, universities and even those employed will benefit
from this program.
The objective is to provide them the opportunity to learn to
communicate effectively in English.
This will empower these youth with the ability to face job interviews
and interact socially. Also featured in the programme is a personality
development component, which focuses on empowerment and confidence
building. Guidance is provided to students on how to write a curriculum
vitae, office memos, manage job interviews and develop other 'soft'
skills.
NDB Bank believes that improved communication in English is a key
ingredient to the development of a globally competitive Sri Lankan
labour force.
NDB Bank hopes that the ECP will not only improve the market value of
these students but also bridge future social income disparities.
A good education is a lifetime investment, which offers one many
opportunities to achieve their ambitions.
The goal of NDB Bank as a World Class Sri Lankan, is to empower youth
to be World Class Sri Lankans. NDB Bank is confident that its mission
could be easily accomplished, as Sri Lankan youth are talented,
intelligent, passionate and creative.
They simply require progressive platforms like the ECP to support and
encourage them to move toward greater heights and face tomorrow's
challenges.
Today, NDB Bank is the fastest growing entity in Sri Lanka's
retail-banking sector.
Backed by its strength and diversity of resources, NDB Bank offers
its customers a wide-ranging portfolio of financial solutions, adhering
to the highest standards of governance and value. |
