Housing project for war heroes' families

Today is a historic day for the Police Seva Vanitha Unit, as we laid the foundation stone for a housing project for the families of police personnel who scarificed their lives or became disabled during the LTTE terrorists activities, said the Police Seva Vanitha Unit President, Anoma Goonetileke Wickremaratna after the opening ceremony of the housing project.

Inspector General of Police Jayantha Wickremaratna was the chief guest at the ceremony held at Kekanadura, Matara recently.

Police Seva Vanitha Unit President paid a tribute to President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa for their great assistance given to the Police Seva Vanitha Unit to commence the building project.

"We are proud to say that under the able leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the entire Sri Lanka is now under one flag. We will never forget the War Heroes who brought peace to the country.

The Police Seva Vanitha Unit is bound to assist the members of the War Heroes to live peacefully in the country.

"Thirty long years of conflict had come to an end. Now we have made all arrangements to set up new houses for the benefit of the members of the War Heroes," said the Police Seva Vanitha Unit President.
