Alli's new venture in their Golden Anniversary:

A boost to paddy cultivation

Alli Co. (Pvt) Ltd celebrating its 50th Golden Anniversary in the Industry has now touched the Paddy Cultivation scenario which would be of a great importance to the domestic farmers spread within the country who are left without reliable purchasers.

To mark the Golden Anniversary of the Company, they have inaugurated a brand new Rice Milling Plant recently.

Their new plant is in the same premises where the factories are now ready to give their many customers well cleaned, de-stoned rice at an affordable price.

This in turn has helped their production line in the flour section where rice and rice based products are being manufactured.

The flour obtained from their own milled rice has given the products a commendable boost since the quality has become 100 percent pure and nourishment sustained.

These products are now readily available in the market.

Alli has been helping the domestic farmers in many ways.

Through the Forward Sales Agreement introduced by the Central Bank the farmers living in the most difficult areas were compensated.

The crops like paddy, kurakkan and oried dhal in the most difficult areas in North Central region saw light in many ways.

The harvest collected by the farmers were purchased at a reasonable price decided by the bank from the doorstep of the farmers and they are happy to save the exorbitant amounts quoted earlier by the buyers from the town and also the charges involved in transporting the crop to the central areas.

The company will be making use of the same systematic method in achieving their goal to the paddy harvest too.

It is observed that the cultivation of paddy and the other subsidiary food crops have registered a marked increase according to the agricultural program 'Api Wawamu Rata Nagamu' initiated by the Government and also the development and re-awakening programs launched by the Government.

The rate of increase of paddy and the other crops harvest has increased considerably.

If this harvest is maintained carefully, the farmer is likely to benefit more and that is the main intention of Alli.

The consumption of wheat flour too has decreased which indicate that people are health conscious and going in for bran and rice and rice based products have increased considerably.

The Government too has exempted duty for the importation of processing machinery relevant to the production of these products which would definitely enhance and boost the local industry.

The experiments are being conducted successfully for the introduction of rice based bakery products which is now in great demand.

So many up and coming new ventures who are very interested in making bread out of rice and other bakery products has contacted Alli for their assistance and co-operation in the future.

The brown rice has greater food value than white, since the outer brown coating contains all the proteins and minerals.

Since the rice is low in fat and enriched with protein and other valuable minerals, the health conscious go for it and even the doctors prescribe their patients suffering from diabetes and cholesterol to consume brown rice at all times.

The products manufactured from raw red rice are very popular among the dieticians, athletes, those who enjoy the age of star dust and models.

Established in 1959 as a cottage industry and later as a food manufacturing company using only locally purchased raw materials with a wide distribution network covering the entire island and now the Exports reach many countries in the globe.

They have more than 40 items in their range.

The company has given employment to more than 450 employees in and around this area and has now become a popular household name.
