Textile buyer - seller meet
The Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEPCIL) set
up by India's Ministry of Textiles is organising a buyer seller meet,
TEXINDIA 2009, in Sri Lanka under the MDA schemes of India's Ministry of
Commerce.
It will be held at the BMICH from November 5 to 7 commencing at 10.30
a.m.
The Convenor of Export Promotion Panel, Dr. Mathivanan said that like
last year, the manufacturers and exporters of PDEXCIL will be
participating in the event and exhibiting their products in fabrics like
grey, yarn dyed, piece dyed, bleached and printed in varieties like
drill, satin, twill, oxford, voiles, sarees, sheeting, dress material,
towelling fabrics, bed linen, lungies and dhothies of international
standard.
Dr. Mathivanan said India's Minister of State for Textiles, P.
Lakshmi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles S.S. Gupta and Minister
of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu. K.S.S.R. Ramachandran are
expected to participate in the inaugural function on November 5.
India's Deputy Minister P. Radhakrishnan will also be participating
in the inaugural function. Ka. Marappan, Chairman of PDEXCIL and other
delegates will also participate.
The buyer seller event is jointly sponsored by the Indian High
Commission in Sri Lanka, Indo-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka,
the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Sri Lanka and the
High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka who have assured their support
for PDEXCIL in organising this event.
