‘Non voice sector revenue generator’
The non voice sector will be the revenue generator in the future as
compared to the traditional voice sector, said member of the Airtel
Management Board (AMB), Chairman of the Mobile Management Board (MMB)
and President, Mobile Services of Bharti Airtel Ltd for both India and
Sri Lanka, Atul Bindal.

He said, that services such as MAMO (My Airtel My Offer) was launched
due to the sophisticated lifecycle management which was built by us. Any
telco uses sophisticated technology platforms but Airtel distinguishes
itself by investing early.
At present Bharti Airtel is looking at mobile commerce to invest in
this area. He said though the regulations are not in place at the moment
even globally in time to come everything will come right therefore it is
the right time to invest in this area.
In addition mobile office and mobile healthcare are also revenue
streams of the future.
Bindal said, that Bharti Airtel is delighted to be in Sri Lanka as it
is very exciting and gratifying in customer response as well as revenue.
From day one we had state-of-the-art capabilities for our customers in
Sri Lanka.
He said that all our future plans are centered around the customer
and the sector will be very crucial in time to come. The Airtel journey
has just begun in Sri Lanka and it is based on affordability and the
right selection of services. He said that they will drive on the
affordability platform which is the right thing and it will definitely
help the voice as well as non voice customers who will benefit.
Bindal said, that Airtel is one of the most effectively run
operations in the markets which they operate around the world and our
guiding principle is how to play to scale. Bindal said that Sri Lanka is
a very important investment for Bharti Airtel not only in size but it is
also a key market and we are just about to complete one successful
year..
CEO of Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka Amali Nanayakkara said that Airtel is
rolling out in the East at the moment and will move to the North in the
