Third International conference on Tea and Health Nutraceutical and
Pharmaceutical Applications, organised by International Society of
Antioxidants in Nutrition and Health in France (ISNAH) was held in Dubai
on December 3 and 4.
Main objective of the Conference was to discuss the latest advances
in tea and health and to highlight the recent innovations and
applications of tea, tea extracts and tea polyphenols in nutraceutical,
cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical products.
The Conference 2009 was held under the patronage of the French
Society of Antioxidants (SFA), Japanese Society of Antioxidants (JSA),
International Society on Preventive Medicine (ISPM) and European
Nutraceutical Institute (ENI).
Upali Kahandawa, Minister Counsellor (Tea Promotion), Sri Lanka
Consulate General, Dubai represented Sri Lanka Tea Board at the
conference and made a presentation on 'Tea and Health - Vision of Sri
Lanka Tea Board'.
Kahandawa said at the conference that Ceylon Tea was one of the
cleanest teas in the world and it is qualified to be known as ozone
friendly.
Schemes have also been adopted to upgrade tea factories to meet and
satisfy the needs of the global consumer, he said. |
