He will never forsake you

Young or old rich or poor;
Into whatever category you fall for sure,
With the above thought walk your way,
In all your dealings you face each day.
In your race through life forward go;
Turn back not: whatever cross that conflicts
So

Endure all hardships patiently up to the end
He not forsake but very soon aid send.
Feeling impatient remember HIM
Walk by faith where sight is dim,
Doubt not: Patiently await the time
HE in HIS goodness will make things fine.
Confinements and limitations we face
In our journey through life: Help others to pace

In the correct path: Let them not go astray
By your example show them the way.
A hidden need within your heart
Not possible to any other impart
One earnest plea and lo! From Heavenly Throne
The answer comes for GOD has heard HIS own.
"The journeys that we take in life
Though unexpected they may be
If we commit to follow Christ
HIS work through us the world will see."

Norma Perera

The true Christmas

Tinsel bells of red and green
Shining in the sparkling light
Adorns a tree at a shop window
But...
Dims with the radiance
Of the on-looking child's face

Blessing

Lord may we find moments
of peace
So that you can find our hearts
ready to receive you afresh
We thank you for the
humility of your birth
Which brings you so very
close to us.
Bless us with true hope
in your promised presence
Our true light in every darkness.

The blind girl

A memory of the tsunami
She wanted to see the sunshine,
Which warmed her on chilly mornings,
She wanted to see the palms swaying,
When she heard the rustle of the leaves,
She longed to see the colourful flowers,
When she smelled them
But she hated the sound of the waves,
Which took so much away.

She wanted to see the rainfall,
When it sprayed through the ventilation on the wall,
She wanted to see the magpies,
When she heard their chatter on the lawn;
She yearned to see the colourful pandols,
When the speakers rang out the recitals,
But she loathed the smell of the sea breeze,
And the sandy beach beneath her feet.

She envisioned her earlier days,
Alive with spirit and expectations,
She remembered how vibrant and changing,
And how independent once her life was;
She tried to remember that fateful day,
Just, four years ago,
When the surging thunderous waves,
Swallowed up her body and soul;
She didn't even have time to say her farewells,
When the monstrous waves ripped her away from her lover's embrace,
Beating the life out of her, smashing her face on broken splinters,
Consuming her alive, indifferent to her screams,
until she was rescued, by an unknown good Samaritan,
Whose lover now she is..................

Jesus, my preceptor

God! On the mountain, you said,
"This is my beloved son, in whom I am
Well pleased, to him then listen"
Of course, even though I am not Christian,
I love Jesus with my whole heart, and my
Whole soul and my whole mind.
Besides, I keep my heart pure
And follow none violence.
So that, He touched and blessed me twice
Since then He has been living in my heart
And guides me through conscience.
In time of hardship He consoles me.
"You shall love your neighbour as yourself"
Is His greatest command.
Jesus is my preceptor, the son of god
O! Brother and sister! Keep your
Hearts pure, then pray to Him with your whole heart.
He will answer you too.
He promises thus "every request
You make of me in my own name,
I myself will grant to you"
Tanks Lord, Jesus Christ
For listening to our prayers.

- B. Balachandiran, Mylany.
