AGM of Computer Society

The 21st annual general meeting of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka was held last month at Galadari Hotel Colombo. New members for the council for 2010 was elected at this meeting.

The President for the year 2010 Chrisantha Silva said that the year 2010 will be another year of many successful events for the Computer Society of Sri Lanka.

The Computer Society started various projects in 2009 and will continue with most of these projects in 2010.

Some of these projects such as annual National IT Conference and National Schools Software Competition are of national interest.

The following officials were elected for the Council for the year 2010.

Chrisantha Silva, President, Mahesh Perera, Vice President, T. Asitha Peiris, Secretary, Dissanayake Bandara, Asst. Secretary, M. M. Lakshman Perera, Treasurer, D. Thushara F. Suraweera, Asst. Treasurer, Dr. Dayan Rajapakse, Student Counsellor, Dr. K. L. Jayaratne, Publication Secretary and Council Members, Chandra Bernard Pathberiya, Ajith Salgado, Damitha Jayawardana M. I. Deen.

The Computer Society of Sri Lanka was formally inaugurated in 1976. Since then it has been promoting Information Technology and professionalism among those engaged in the field of ICT in the country for the past 33 years.
