Serbia-Lanka relations discussed

CWC President and Deputy Minister of Nation Building and Estate
Infrastructure Development Muthu Sivalingam held discussions on Friday
at his Ministry with Ambassador for the Republic of Serbia Jovan
Mirilovic.
The Ambassador is stationed in New Delhi and overlooks Sri Lanka,
Maldives and Bangladesh. The discussions were centered on mutual
cooperation and interaction in the fields of trade, tea industry and
promotion of tourism.
He said he was hoping to hold discussions with the Government in the
near future on bilateral trade and exchange of technical know-how in the
industrial field. Deputy Minister Sivalingam apprised the Ambassador of
the wide-ranging development projects introduced by the UPFA Government
for improving the living conditions of the plantation community and the
creation of separate ministries to ensure the socio-economic welfare of
the community.
