Cambrians halt Royal's winning streak

CRICKET: Prince of Wales College Moratuwa brought an end to Royal's
unbeaten record this season while pulling off a sensational nine wicket
outright victory in their 82nd annual inter-school under 19 cricket
tournament match which concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Royal resuming from their overnight score of 83 for 4 were bundle out
for just 124 runs with Malshan Mendis returning outstanding figures of
seven wickets for 61. He added a couple of more wickets to his tally in
the second innings and finished with a matchbag nine wickets.
Royal who were forced to follow on managed to score only 203 runs in
their second innings despite a fighting knock of 89 from Sri Lanka youth
cap Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
This was also Prince of Wales' eighth victory against Royal in the
overall series which commenced in 1896. Royal of course lead the series
with a tally of 36 victories having last defeated the Cambrians in the
year 2000.
Prince of Wales: 304 for 9 decl and 24 for 1.
