Daintee's quality food an impetus

Daintee Ltd, a confectionery company diversified from its traditional
confectionery in recent times to marketing a breakfast cereal range to
satisfy a growing demand for such food. These products are mainly maize
and kurakkan based and would give an impetus to the country's
agricultural economy.
Corn Flakes is a 100% maize product fortified with vitamins and
minerals devoid of any preservatives, artificial colours or flavours.
Grain Flakes 40+ is a combination of kurakkan and green gram to give
a balanced breakfast for those health conscious and desirous of sugar
control.
This too is devoid of artificial colours and flavours and was awarded
the prize for 'The Product of the Year with Local Raw Material' at the
Pro Foods 2009 Exhibition.
Kurakkan Crunch is a 100% kurakkan product devoid of any
preservatives or artificial colours and flavours which won the 2008 pro
Food Award for 'Best product of the Year and Best Product of the Year
with Local Raw Material'. It is highly sought after by those conscious
of blood sugar control.
Daintee Limited was set up in 1984 as a fully Sri Lankan owned
company. From its small beginnings with a single machine and a few
operators it has grown into a large complex in a span of 25 years. With
expertise from Barker and Dobson of UK it has introduced over 100
varieties to the market under the prestigious brand names Milady,
Benson, Chito, X-tra, Mr. Bitz to name a few.
Daintee is the only Sri Lankan confectionery company to be awarded
both SLS and ISO 9000-2008 certification and with the strict quality
controls.
Providing employment to over 700 people and with its islandwide
distribution network Daintee has gained recognition.
