 No pain for T-Pain

If you know the latest hip hop
hits, there is no need to introduce T-Pain to you. He has already
collaborated with many world famous musicians such as Chris Brown, Tay
Dizm, Young Jeezy, DJ Khaled, Flo Rida, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Plies, Rick
Ross, Kanye West, Twista, Travis McCoy, Lil Mama, The Lonely Island and
many more.
Faheem Rasheed Najm was born on September 30, 1985 in Tallahassee,
Florida. His stage name is short for “Tallahassee Pain” and was chosen
because of the hardships he felt while living there. He is better known
by his stage name T-Pain and he is an American singer, lyricist, rapper
and record producer. He began his career as a rapper in the group Nappy
Headz. In 2005, he became a singer and released his debut album ‘Rappa
Ternt Sanga’ with the hits ‘I am so sprung’ and ‘I am N luv wit a
stripper’.
Throughout his career as a singer, T-Pain has extensively used the
auto-tune pitch correction effect. In 2007, his second album ‘Epiphany’
came out, with the club-oriented singles ‘Buy you a drank’ featuring
Young Joc and ‘Bartender’. Both singles were in the Top 5. ‘Epiphany’
debuted at the top spot of the US Billboard 200 chart and has sold about
819,000 units as of May 2008.
He won two Grammy Awards, Best R&B Performance by a duo or a group
(Blame it) with Jamie Fox in 2010 and Best Rap Song (Good Life) with
Kanye West in 2008. He had already won many other awards for his
creations. T-Pain lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife, Amber, and
three children: daughter Lyriq, son Muziq, and son Kaydnz Kodah. He has
been married to Amber since 2003 and his song “I’m so sprung” is
dedicated to her.
