Asia New Singers' competition in China

The 11th Asia New Singers' Competition will be held from the 28 April to 7 May in China.

Young and talented vocalist Miss Umaria.Sinhawansa will participate as the solo contestant and the group -FOUR -comprising ,Kanishka.Athulathmudali, Shasthri Herath.Lindakumbufrage,Nuwan Herath.lindakumburage, Sandun ranga.Athulathmudali will participate in the group event. Kalasuri Ms .Arunthathy.SriRanganathan ,the artistic Director of ARU SRI ART THEATRE has nominated many popular and leading musicians like Bathiya ,Santhush ,Charles -Mark,Umara,Natasha for the competition.

The contestants will be performing two songs, one original and a popular number. Out of all contestants, the top fifteen contestants will be given the opportunity of performing live with the symphony orchestra of china. It is a golden opportunity for our young musicians to get an exposure to the world of music and at an internationally recognised competition.

'Balloth Ekka Be' at Elphinstone

Two special shows of the hilarious comedy 'Balloth Ekka Be', written and directed by Ravindra Ariyarathna, will be staged at the Elphinstone Theatre Colombo 10 on April 25 at 3.30 pm and 6.45 pm.

The cast include Wijaya Nandasiri, Roshan Pilapitiya, Gihan Fernando, Saman Hemarathna (Leelasena), Kumara Thirimadura and Luvolin Vandervol. The music is directed by Shantha Peiris. The costumes are designed by Gihan Fernando. The costumes are designed by Gihan Fernando. Make-up is by Saman Hemarathna.
