Indian rider Santosh cynosure of all eyes at Fox Hill Super Cross

Indian rider, C.S. Santosh stole the show at the Fox Hill Super Cross 2010 worked off at Diyatalawa yesterday. Competing in the Motocross Bikes up to 125CC. (2 T) Up to 250 CC (4 T) (Race 2) event, Santosh was the cynosure of all eyes with his dazzling performance. He made an ideal combination of his skills and power of his bike to win the much looked forward event at the popular event worked off before a capacity crowd of 30,000 spectators. The meet comprised of 27 events - 12 motorcycle and 15 cars, organised by the Sri Lanka Army's Military Academy of Diyatalawa and conducted by the Sri Lanka Association for Racing Drivers and Riders and CEAT Sri Lanka. President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa graced the morning session to watch the cream of Sri Lanka drivers and riders in action.

Their youngest son Rohitha Rajapaksa, better known in the rugby circle as former Thomian Captain, finished third in Nissan March up to 1000cc event after a keenly contested tussle. S.A. Harsha finished first, closely followed by Harsha Panduwawala and Rohitha Rajapaksa. Manjula Wijesinghe went past Lt. Col. Duminda Jayasinghe to secure the first place in Truck Jeep Diesel up to 5500 CC event. Finishing third was Sumudu C. Dissanayake who gave a close run to Wijesinghe and Jayasinghe. Udesh Wedisinghe underlined his supremacy in Super Motorbikes up to 250CC (2T 4T) with another exciting performance. He was closely followed by Dinesh Anuruddha and W.M. Lakshman Anura Kumara who settled for second and third places respectively.

The Fox Hill Super Cross, one of the premiere events in the local racing calendar, attracted a large number of holidaymakers who were here to the April season. The meet had its own share of thrills and spills to generate its customary enthusiasm and excitement.
