Douglas and Sons felicitates tyre dealers

A Business Promotion Tour, organised by Douglas and Sons Pvt Ltd (DSL) last week felicitated two hundred Sri Lankan tyre dealers by sending them for a three-day tour to Indonesia.

The tour was organised with the assistance of the Indonesian Embassy in Sri Lanka and the organisers held a special awards night ceremony in Jakarta to coincide with their tour.

"The objective of holding a business promotion awards night outside Sri Lanka was to give an opportunity to dealers to witness the tyre manufacturing process in indonesia," DSL, Managing Director Saroj Perera said.

Speaking at a press briefing in Colombo, Perera said that Indonesia is the biggest tyre supplier to the Sri Lankan market and among them GT brand had maintained the market leadership status for the past 14 years.

"During this period Sri Lankan vehicle owners purchased over 2.5 million GT tyres," he said.

Perera said the company also helped towards the country's economy to a greater extent by selling a large number of tyres.

Indonesian Ambassador Djafar Hussein hailed the efforts of DSL in organising this historic Awards Night in Indonesia where the two countries maintained a close diplomatic and economic relations for the past several decades.

He said, conducting a tour of this nature will also help to promote bilateral trade between the two countries in the future.
