Study course helps gain specialised qualification

Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka, has launched a important study course, Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DIOSH) teaming up with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), functioning under the aegis of the Ministry of Labour Relations and Manpower.

It is very opportune that the correct knowledge and skills are imparted to those who are directly involved with this subject.

This Diploma fills a need that had been generally overlooked by the concerned authorities, employers and employees. The gravity and importance of the issues have to be brought to the open and discussed.

The attention of those directly involved has to be focused.

DIOSH is designed to impart both knowledge and practical skills that is needed by those who will be responsible for the subject of Occupational Safety and Health in the work places.

This is not a subject that can be handled lightly.

The persons who undergo this course should finally be very competent persons who could handle any emergency or routine situations effectively.

We are fortunate that NIOSH has teamed up with us to assist with the necessary technical expertise and guidance.

DIOSH, on the other hand, aims to fill the need nationwide when the Safety, Health and Welfare Act become part of the statutes in this country.
