A scene from "Debiddo"

"Debiddo" comes to Elphinstone

Prasanna Vithanage's new production of nobel prize winning Dario Fo's political farce Debiddo will go on the boards at the Elphinstone Theatre, Maradana on May 24 at 7.00 p.m.

The cast includes Jayalath Manorathna (in a dual role) Jayani Senanayake, Jayasiri Chandrajith, Dayadewa Edirisinghe and Damayanthi Fonseka.

"Debiddo" is produced by Serinity Group, Jude Srimal is the organizer.

"Miyuru Gee Sara"

The maiden musical show "Miuru Gee Sara" of amateur singing star Janaka Senevirathna who came into limelight through the musical forum of the Government Press will be held at the Ambalangoda Town Hall on May 29 at 3.00 p.m. and 6.30.

He will be accompanied by the Majestic Group. Supper Star Singer Maheshika Lakmali too will entertain the fans while Ranga Rasara Dancing Troup will add colour to the musical show.

SOSL in concert today

Ananda Dabare will conduct the Concert by the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka at The Ladies College Hall,Colombo today at 7.00 p.m The soloist is the well-known Sri Lankan pianist Harsha Abeyaratne resident in the United States. Harsha is an Associate Professor of Music at Muskingham University in New Concord, Ohio and has an active career as a soloist, accompanist, chamber music and teacher.

The programme of the Concert will feature Romantic Masterworks of Tchaikovsky, Greig and Rachmaninov and will include the melodius Symphony No 4 by Tchaikovsky, enchanting excerpts from Greig's Peer Gynt Suites and Rachmaninov's richly lyrical Piano Concerto No. 1.

'Geththam Siththam' from May 27-29

'Geththam Siththam' an art exhibition by Chamath Jayathiratne, along with some oil paintings on canvas done by his sister Chandani Jayanetti will be held from May 27-29 at Sri Sudharmarama Vihara, Wethera, Polgasowita. The exhibits include 150 thread crafts and 75 oil paintings.

Chandani Jayanetti is a teacher at Visakha Vidyalaya Primary Section Colombo.
