Army deserters opt to resign

Army personnel who had deserted the Army while in service or during their basic training will be given the option to resign from service. The Sri Lanka Army will issue Leaving Certificates from June 7-30, 2010 at the Sri Maha Bodhirajaramaya at Panagoda.

The Sri Lanka Army has called upon deserters to use this opportunity and obtain official resignation.

The personnel should bring their National Identity Cards (NICs). In the absence of the NIC a Police statement is compulsory along with the driver's licence or the passport or the Identity Card issued by the Postal Department and five stamp sized colour photographs. The deserters could obtain the Leaving Certificates on the same day.
