Wealth through knowledge DFCC's aim

Knowledge can mean the difference between poverty and wealth. To remain competitive in the global economy it will be increasingly important to invest in quality knowledge inputs. Sri Lanka's recent and continuing reforms to support the country's transition to a knowledge economy is a step in the right direction.

"DFCC Bank defines knowledge economies as those that create, disseminate and use knowledge to enhance growth and development through investment on education, innovation and information, and communications technology and has found a unique approach to enhance knowledge through DFCC MindStar - a quiz based, reality show telecast on ITN every Saturday from 9 to 10 pm explained Vice President - Group Corporate Communications DFCC Bank Rosheeni Madanayake Wijesekera.

'DFCC MindStar revolves around contestants answering a series of challenging yet interesting questions and winning rewards for their efforts. MindStar will run for a 30-week period featuring 180 contestants and the eligibility to appear on the show will depend on the performance of the applicants at the initial aptitude tests. High scorers will be selected for the TV shows. Each show will feature one representative from each province in the country, totalling nine contestants per show," she added.

"The entire series of TV shows will feature twenty preliminary rounds. The winners of each round will qualify for the semi finals and then, the finals. Each preliminary TV show will include ten questions with the last question carrying an absolute spellbinder..an award of one million rupees on every show. During the show, contestants will have three help lines 'Ask the family', 'Trade in the question' or 'Ask a fellow contestant,' said Brand Manager - Corporate Communications of DFCC Bank D.L.H. Sajith Silva.

"Current to MindStar, DFCC Bank has introduced a novel concept in savings with DFCC Points Collector. Customers can collect reward points for savings and these points can be redeemed for goods and services through an exclusive merchant network," said Silva.

DFCC Bank in addition to being the premier investment banker in the country is slowly inching towards becoming the best etail Banker through DFCC Vardhana Bank.

Combined with extensive interaction, networking opportunities and an assurance that you will benefit from an atmosphere of knowledge exchange and experience-sharing DFCC Bank helps you identify the best strategies for your future.
