A star-studded show
Three Ministers - Keheliya Rambuwella, Bandula Gunawardene and C.B.
Ratnayake will be present at the 32nd Observer-Mobitel Schoolboy
Cricketer of the Year Mega Awards Ceremony at 6.15 p.m. tomorrow at the
Sirimavo Bandaranaike Conference Hall ‘A’, BMICH.
Organised by Sri Lanka’s flagship English newspaper the Sunday
Observer, it is sponsored by Sri Lanka’s national mobile network, Sri
Lanka Telecom Mobitel.
Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella will be
the Chief Guest while Minister of Sports C.B. Ratnayake and Education
Minister Bandula Gunawardena will be the Guests of Honour.
The most outstanding schoolboy cricketers of the 2009/2010
inter-school season will win over 40 trophies and attractive cash awards
that will be on offer at the country’s premier schools cricket awards
show which has produced legendary Sri Lanka international cricketers
since 1979.
Adding colour to the Mega Awards ceremony will be Bhathiya & Santhush
and Centigradez. There will be several dance acts performed by renowned
artiste Channa Wijewardene’s troupe.
A limited number of special entry passes for the Year Mega Awards
Ceremony are available, exclusively for Sunday Observer readers on a
first come first served basis. Schoolboys and cricket fans who are
interested in catching the excitement of schoolboy stars winning the top
awards could call over at the Advertising Consultant’s office at Lake
House (Tel: 2429429 Ext: 302) between 9 am to 1 pm tomorrow to collect
the limited number of special entry passes available. Three of the best
performers during the 2009/10 season have been shortlisted for the
prestigious Observer-Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year All-Island
title. Based on their performance, the selection panel picked Kithuruwan
Vithanage (Royal), Ramesh Buddhika (Mahinda College) and Banuka
Rajapakse (Royal) for the most sought-after title. |
