House founder D.R. Wijewardene’s 60th death anniversary falls today. A
staunch freedom fighter, he dedicated himself to create a sense of
understanding among the people on the value of national freedom when Sri
Lanka was a British Colony. His newspapers were largely instrumental in
winning independence for the country. |
