A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
You know I work all day to get you money to buy you things
And it's worth it just to hear you say you're going to give me
everything
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
You know I feel ok
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight
It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright Owww!
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
You know I feel ok
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight
It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
You know I feel alright
You know I feel alright
A sensational pop foursome
The four boys from Liverpool John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George
Harrison and Ringo Starr calling themselves The Beatles were immersed in
skiffle and 1950s rock and roll and played the Liverpool club circuit
and also the Hamburg clubs. As teenagers they created a social and
cultural revolution with their "progressive" music in the 1960s.
They achieved the UK mainstream success with their first single "Love
Me Do" in 1962. But when Brian Epstein a music store owner stepped in as
their manager, he moulded them into a sensational professional outfit.
"A Hard Day's Night" which was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney
became a commercial success overnight and with it the fad 'Beatlemania'.
The Beatles in the UK were a strong contender to the hot favourite in
the States - Elvis Presley, and their song writing which grew in
sophistication came to be perceived as the embodiment of progressive
ideals in music. "A Hard Day's Night" was being played and sung by
orchestra's and bands on the stages of the world which proved their
potential as a sensational commercial outfit. |
