Social worker passes away
A social worker in the Matara area Indarnie Dissanayake,
relict of Reggie Dissanayake, Advocate of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka
in the Matara Courts, beloved mother of Dulani, Kamal, Harshanie and
Yasoja, Mother-in-law of Dhammika, Ramyachandra and Yasoma expired.
Cortege leaves residence 286, Thalawathugoda Road, Hokandara South today
for funeral at General Cemetery.
Stars of 70s on July 17 at BMICH
The much awaited musical show, "STARS of 70s" will be
staged on Saturday, July 17 at the BMICH starting at 7 pm. The show is
presented by Annesley Malawana organised by the Thurstan College OBU in
aid of the College Development Fund.
Music in benefit of war heroes
The musical extravaganza `Tharu Dilena Reyak’ organised
under the `Brave Hearts’ project of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB)
will be staged at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on July 17, to raise
funds for the Anuradhapura `Abimansala’ (Wellness resort) which is to be
constructed for totally dependant war heroes.The `Abimansala’ concept
was mooted by Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Jagath
Jayasooriya to look into the welfare of disabled war heroes.
The foundation stone was laid by Lt. General Jagath
Jayasooriya in the company of Manjulika Jayasooriya, President SVAB on
