Managing Director CBL, Lakshman de Silva retires
After giving direction to Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) as Managing
Director, Lakshman de Silva will retire from CBL on March 31, 2011
leaving behind memories of an illustrious career spanning over 11 years
with the company.
During this period, under the leadership of its Chairman Mineka
Wickramasingha, the group's overall turnover increased from Rs. 1
billion to over 16 billion with group profitability increasing over 16
fold. De Silva was a member of the management team that contributed to
this remarkable growth of the organisation.
While the group surged ahead with an outstanding financial growth, it
also enhanced industry scalability by expanding the width and depth of
its product portfolio, positioning CBL as one of the most diversified
food processors in the Sri Lankan market. During the past decade CBL
succeeded in taking their brands to many overseas markets and
established its reputation as a forerunner in bringing in much needed
foreign exchange to Sri Lanka.
As CBL surges ahead with even more innovations and new products CBL
is now looking for a dynamic replacement for De Silva who will be able
to assist the senior management to steer the group to its next level of
growth in both domestic and international arenas.
