SICI and CISI sign MoU

Sri Lankan job seekers will get an opportunity to receive high
quality training and globally recognised qualifications in professional
banking and finance at the Singapore Informatics Computer Institute (Pvt)
Ltd (SICI) following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding
between the SICI and the Chartered Institute for Securities and
Investment (CISI), UK.
The MoU was signed on Tuesday in Colombo by CISI, Country Head, Arwa
Tapia and SICI, Director/ General Manager Boshan Dayaratne.
According to the MoU, the SICI will conduct a number of
internationally recognised training courses commencing in October.
The objective of the CISI is to help members to maintain and develop
their knowledge and skills and also to promote the highest standards of
ethics and integrity in the securities and investment industry.
It has over 40,000 members in 89 countries.
Based in London, the CISI is a global organisation and four
representative offices are located in Dublin, Singapore, Dubai and
Mumbai.
Dayaratne said that they were proud to be the first comprehensive
accredited training partner for CISI and were looking forward to
introduce courses to fill the gap in the market in trades such as
Islamic Banking, Stock Brokering and Risk Management.
Arwa Tapia said that they were happy to enhance the skills of
financial services professional in Sri Lanka and provide them with an
opportunity to learn about global practices in the financial services
sector.
CISI, MD Ruth Martin said courses will provide both industry
practitioners and students with the opportunity to gain valuable
professional qualifications to contribute to Sri Lanka's economic
growth.
