Indian boxer go away with A&E Trophy

India won the Duel Boxing Championship beating Sri Lanka 5-2 to take
the A & E Challenge trophy at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday.

Chamoinda Tennekoon (Sri Lanka - Red) lands a left hook to

Weight 49kgs. bout at the Sugathadasa Indoor stadium in the
Indian - Sri Lanka Duel Boxing Championship which India 5-2.

India won all three of the women's bouts, and India's Preethi Benewal
who defeated Niranjala Senanayake in the Light Weight under 60 kgs
category was adjudged as the Best Boxer in the women's category.
Sri Lanka's Chaminda Tennekoon won the Best Boxers award for his fine
effort to beat Murugan Mahadevan in the Light Weight 49 kgs. class.
Kosala Nilmini who went down fighting to Pinki Jangra 2-2 to take the
best losers award in the Light Fly Weight 48 kgs.
Light Fly Weight 48 kgs: Pinki Jangra (India beat A.A. Kosala Nilmini
(SL).
Fly Weight 51 kgs: Meena Kumari (India) beat Niranjala Weeraratna
(SL).
Light Weight 60 kgs: Preeti Beniwal (India) beat Niranjala Senanayake
(SL).
Light Fly Weight 49 kgs: T.M.C. Tennekoon (SL) beat Murugan Mahadevan
(India).
Fly Weight 52 kgs: Santosh Fakirappa Harijan (India) beat D.M.
Samarasekera (SL).
Feather Weight 56 kgs: Manju Wanniarachchi (SL) beat Mishal Benjamin
Lakra.
Light Weight 60 kgs: Vikash Malik (India) beat A.K.G. Kamal Sameera. |
