Danceport 2010 - championship

Danceport 2010 organised by Artistic Dance World for the first time
will be held on September 25 at Opulent River Face Hotel, Nawala,
Rajagiriya at 6.00 p.m. The event is open for all ballroom dance lovers
in the country.
According to the organisers of this event, Maheen Ranasinghe and
Amali Ranasinghe, the competition is open for both children and adults.
All dancing schools are welcome to take part in this championship. It
will be organised according to International rules and regulations. The
event will be judged by a panel of well qualified adjudicators.
There will be Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, trophies and
certificates for the winners of this competition. Certificates will be
awarded to the winners of fourth, fifth and sixth place winners. The
even coincides with Mahen Ranasinghe's 15th year in dancing. Over 60
couples in all categories will take part in the event. The organisers
wish to build a giant dance studio in Sri Lanka with all facilities for
ballroom dancing. The studio to be built according to the international
standards. A wooden floor and all the other requirements will be
included in the studio which will be made available for dancing
practice, rehearsals and other events organised by all dancing schools
in the country in future.

Suba saha Yasa at Lionel Wendt
The new production of Suba saha Yasa, directed by Saiman
Navagaththegama will be staged at the Lionel Wendt Theatre on September
26 at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m.
The cast include Sriyantha Mendis, Nihal Fernando, Kusum Renu,
Samadara Ariyawansa, Wasantha Wittachci, Amaradasa Thalgahagoda, Deepika
Abeygunaratne, Ratne D. Nambuge, Premakumara Dassanayake, Kumara
Thirimadura, Susil Perera, Neil Ravindra, Ravindra Ariyarathna and Asoka
Zoysa. Stanley Oumar has directed the music.
Play House presents musical theatre for children
Play House - Kotte, the leading children's play producer will present
plays for children, Punchi Apata Den Therei (We Know it Now) and Toppi
Welenda (The Hat Seller) on September 25 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre at
3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m.
The cast include Wickrama Seneviratne, Rohitha Karunaratne, Mayura
Kanchana, Dilum Buddhika, Sulochana Weerasinghe, Geetha Alahakoon, Nimmi
Priyadharshini, Lahiru Nimantha, Pramod Edirisinghe, Dilip Kumara,
