Ariyawathie looked after well

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) yesterday assured that the Lankan worker L.G. Ariyawathie who arrived in the country following injuries caused by her Saudi Arabian employer, will be provided with insurance and welfare benefits by the Bureau in addition to the new house, now being constructed at her hometown in Thihagoda, Matara.

The Housing Authority has already commenced the construction work of the new house with the financial assistance provided by both the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment and the National Housing Authority.

SLBFE, DGM, Mangala Randeniya told the Sunday Observer yesterday that Ariyawathie will also be paid compensation from her employment agency in Saudi Arabia after conducting investigations.

He said investigations in this regard are now being carried out under the supervision of both Sri Lankan and Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministries.

"The investigations will be expedited after receiving medical reports including the most important JMO's report from the Kamburupitiya General Hospital where she was admitted on her arrival in the country last month," he added.
