Ayurveda EXPO in July

Ayurveda Expo 2011 an exhibition and symposium will be held from July
15-17. The exhibition mainly based on Yoga,Meditation, Food and Wellness
will showcase and promote products and services in these sectors.

The launch of Ayurveda Expo 2011 was held in Colombo last week,
organised by the National Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (NCCSL) which
was attended by Indigenous Medicine Minister Piyasena Gamage, Chairman
Siddhalepa Group - Dr. Victor Hettigoda and the Chairman of the Sri
Lanka Tourist Development Authority/Tourist Promotion Bureau, Dr. Nalaka
Godahewa.
"One of the main objectives of this exhibition and symposium is to
increase the volume of trade and investment on Ayurveda and the native
healthcare sectors the world over said Senior Deputy President, NCCSL,
Asoka Hettigoda. Ayurveda Expo 2011 is held to create awareness among
the public, professionals, students, researchers and foreign delegates
of the advanced treatment methods, products and services available.
A series of workshops and sessions on special topics related to
ayurveda and indigenous medicine will be held during the exhibition by
world renowned professionals.
A special area with all facilities will be allocated at Ayurveda 2011
for the Sri Lankan ayurveda professionals, businessmen, industrialists
and investors to meet overseas delegates.
"Our objective in the ministry is to build a strong and healthy
environment for the public and at the same time to build the ayurvedic
industry. This year was named Ayurveda Year and had an ayurveda week
from August 1-7." said Indigenous Medicine Minister, Piyasena Gamage.
The exhibition and symposium is organised by the National Chamber of
Commerce of Sri Lanka in association with the Ministries of Indigenous
Medicine, Economic Development Industry & Commerce, Sri Lanka Tourism
and Gem & Jewellery Authority. The sponsor, are Siddhalepa, Baraka, Link
Natural products, Janet Nature's Secrets and the nature resort Tree of
Life.
