Kids' play area at BIA

A kids' play area facility (PLAYPORT) was introduced to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) making another significant achievement in the development of the airport.

Major airports around the world now cater to travelling families and they offer kids play areas. Having identified this need at Bandaranaike International Airport, Alpha Orient Lanka, the leading Duty Free Retailer donated this kids play area to Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited.

This added facility was opened recently by Prassanna Wickramasuriya, Chairman, Airport and Aviation (Sri Lanka) Limited. "Our journey towards attracting 2.5 Million tourists by year 2016" into Sri Lanka will be enhanced by this type of passenger, friendly facilities and thank Alpha Orient Lanka for their innovative idea and the generous donation in funding this project," Wickramasuriya, said.

"Kids play areas are becoming a popular attraction in leading airports around the world. Kids play area will not only enhance the airport facility at Bandaranaike International Airport, but also uplift the overall atmosphere at the airport and we are pleased to play a part in this venture," Dimantha Kinigama, CEO of Alpha Orient Lanka said.
