World media hail budget

The 2011 budget has been identified by the international media as one
of the best budgets presented in two decades they have hailed it as a
development oriented budget.
They have stated that President Mahinda Rajapaksa has given clear
leadership to the economic development of the country from this budget
and have also given the benefits of the war to the people.
The Wall Street Journal published in USA after an in-depth analysis
has stated that the budget has been presented in such a manner that it
would bring benefits to the people while driving the economy forward in
an aggressive manner.
The budget presented by the President after ending the war and taking
oaths for the second term will enable people to reap the benefits of
peace.
The Reuters stated that the budget aims to reduce its fiscal deficit
to a 19-year low of 6.8 percent.
The BBC meanwhile has acknowledged that the 2011 budget has been
successfully presented with an aim to secure economic goals through tax
reforms.
Economic analysts based in USA after reviewing the 2011 budget has
pointed out that this is the most transparent budget that was present in
the Asian continent. This positive sentiment was witnessed during the
past three years, they said.
The accolades provided by international media are a mirror of the
country is being led to economic prosperity and taking the country
towards being the wonder of Asia.
